Rushden Lakes Garden Square

Macgregor - Smith Landscape Architects vision for the public realm at Garden Square stemmed from the idea of creating a verdant oasis in this corner of Rushden Lakes, giving visitors the opportunity to relax in a calm space surrounded by greenery. The space encourages people to explore and interact with their surroundings and builds upon the unique character of the Rushden Lakes. A natural play space creates an exciting opportunity for children to explore in amongst fallen logs and boulders and insect and bird habitats nestled in the trees boost the habitat for locally important species.

Willerby Landscapes were invited in November 2018 to tender for the works with a proviso that we be able to commence the pre-construction in January/February 2019 and be available onsite by the 1st March for the commencement of the hard landscaping and civils; complete the installation of the soft landscaping and street furniture and with a final clean up and snagging by the end of April 2019.

Working closely with all the stakeholders, Willerby Landscapes successfully achieved these target dates and brought Macgregor - Smith's design and vision to life.
