Willerby Landscapes has access to the latest innovations in irrigation technology which ensures that our clients receive the best system suited to their requirements. One of the positive advantages for irrigation systems is to provide water to plants over a set period of time which aids the maturing of landscapes more quickly; It also reduces plant losses and helps plants cope with difficult conditions, especially in hostile environments such as green roofs. Modern landscape irrigation systems are also designed to minimise water wastage and can be coupled with rainwater harvesting systems to maximise their green credentials.
We were actively involved with the installation of irrigation systems in the Olympic South Park and 2012 Gardens and also secured the water management of the Park prior to and during the Games. Our expertise continued to be drawn upon during the construction of the LLDC Legacy works at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park South Plaza Pleasure Gardens, where we implemented a new irrigation system along with a fun, state-of-the-art waterfeature, known as The Labyrinth.
The latest challenge was installing the irrigation system in the Sky Garden on the 37th floor of 20 Fenchurch Street. Designing two separate irrigation systems and a specially designed misting unit to control the humidity levels within the garden, we yet again showed imagination and innovation for such a prestigeous scheme.
