Fitzroy Place London W1

Formally the Middlesex Hospital site in central London, which was demolished in spring 2008, this new development known as Fitzroy Place which combines 295 homes with 240,000 sq ft of offices, including the EMEA Headquarters for cosmetics multinational, Estee Lauder is now complete.

Following public consultation, the square within the development has been called Pearson Square acknowledging the work of local resident and renowned architect John Loughborough Pearson who designed the retained hospital chapel sited in the square.

Our works commenced the back end of 2014 with the creation of a tree pit for the planned installation of a 9m in height London Plane tree. A special tree grill and frame was fabricated to contain the tree which was waiting to be planted having been lifted from the tree nursery earlier and its roots put into an air pot system until it was time to be planted.

Other works involved the planting of 15 Magnolia grandiflora, 7m in height, the installation of the sub base and lawn around the Chapel, the Physic Garden along with 300m of Taxus baccata hedging, Amelanchier lamarkii, 900 shrubs, and 2,000 bulbs. The irrigation installation for the trees, lawns, Physic Garden and the ivy on the pagodas was carried out by Willerby Landscapes.
