Willerby Landscapes were excited to be involved in constructing the soft landscape for the Marketing Suite on the re-development of the iconic Battersea Power Station. A Grade II* listed building, it will form the central focus of the development plans and will be carefully restored with public accessibility at its core.
The 39-acre site overlooks over 400 metres of London's famous River Thames, less than a mile and a half from the House of Parliament. It is directly opposite Chelsea and forms the cornerstone of London's last significant regeneration area, Nine Elms.
The Marketing Suite soft landscaping was a five week programme, and was completed in time for the official opening of the Suite for the public sale of the homes being built. The development management of the project is being undertaken by British based management company, Battersea Power Station Development Company.
Preparatory work on the first phase, which consists of eight core buildings to the West of the 39 acre site, has already begun and the second phased commenced back in the second half of 2013.
This will coincide with the start of the renovation of the Grade II* listed Power Station, the largest brick building in Europe and one of the most significant surviving examples of Art Deco architecture.
Completion of the first phase of the development is expected sometime this year.
